    Saved by TPMS!

Well, at over 70mph yesterday on a dual carriageway the type pressure warning came on allowing me plenty of time to slow to a halt before the front offside had completely deflated. Foreign object had pierced the tyre.

I had a 100 mile journey back home as no one locally had a P-Zero in stock but the foam worked perfectly and allowed me to be on my way after a biz meeting with no problem at all - albeit at 50mph (which does actually chill you out). I did have soem funny looks from the lorries overtaking me

Just thankful I have the system which warned me of the trouble before I even noticed any change in the handling. Could have been nasty!

Over 69.5MPH surely ;-) When I recently had a rear slow puncture TPMS warned me in time so I could sort out safely. Should be standard equipment AFAIK...

When my popped, they advised getting a pair (mine were rears though), i Had the good one mounted on a spare wheel I had bought to build into a coffee table (geeky I know) as it still had 5mm on it..

We'll have to arrange a photo shoot outside Building 2, quite a cool backdrop on a sunny day. Did you get boos or cheers ;-)
    Best Regards, Ian

People were just interested to talk about the car. As one guy said, quite correctly, "you are lucky to have such a car, the puncture is a pretty small thing"!

I hope the T-pms works as good in the work-truck. I had a fairly large hole in R 8s' rt.frnt that I had a couple of minutes of driving left before completely flat. The stock pirelli seems to run flat O K, but I was able to creep 1000 yds to the tyre shop. Thank goodness none of us has had a full on blow-out at speed...oh, the damage...

    Re: Saved by TPMS!

I forgot to ask the sales rep when I was at the Audi dealership this morning, but does the TPMS indicate the pressure warning for a specific tire or is it just a overall warning that one of the tires is underinflated?

    Re: Saved by TPMS!

It's an overall warning. I think it just compares differences between the tires or something.

    Re: Saved by TPMS!

It is a general warning. Will not tell you which tire, even though the computer does see and know each one. In the coding there is a bar preasure that is set and if the reading is out of the range the light turns on.
