    Fitting a Touch Screen SatNav

Anyone got experience of replacing the crappy RNS-E with something more modern. The 5 digit PostCode thing is driving me nuts and whirling the wheel to enter letters is too cumbersome.

All advice welcomed (well almost, I can think of one's advice which would be as welcome as a f*rt in spacesuit...)
    Best Regards, Ian

I'd either use a portable sat nav or enjoy getting lost. It involves more driving

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: baffles me how the VW line has much better nav systems than the Audi line. Even before the touch screen RNS510, the had the other navs with the quick buttons on the side.

    shame on you audi

I know this is not going to help much, but it is for reasons like this that i told Audi to forget the satnav option. I was not going to pay that kind of money for a system that would soon be obsoleted and showed up by a $250 Garmin portable unit. Audi needs to do better in this area.

I agree with Garyhun, working the '08 R 8 Sat/Nav. can drive a person to "Go Postal". ( a U.S. thing, where people go nuts and shoot everyone).

I didn't think the NAV would be that bad, considering that its truly not a MMI system, but made to act like one. I thought it would be ok, since I really don't mind the one in the Q7 with the wheel (i can see the pro's over touch systems). But i will admit that it totally sucks on the R8.. that's all I got to say.

Does anyone with a 2010 model see a difference with the updated unit?
