I wish that when I start my r8, it automatically start with sports button depressed. So far I have always driven my car in sports mode and find the r-tronic gear shifts to be quite smooth even changing from 1st to 2nd gear. need bit of practice tho to get it right.

In the manual ones they always start in sports mode

My MT6 does not start up in the sport mode (US model).

I'm thinking this may be something that can be tuned in VAG-COM?

I haven't tried starting in sport mode. After she's warmed a bit I back out and hit button before proceeding forward. Does Sport mode work in reverse?? \:/

I was joking!!! As far as I'm concerned it's all sports mode as it's all about how quick I change gear!!! I never normally touch the mag ride as it's always wrorking anyway!

On really bad highways I'll turn Mag ride off.But more and more I'vr been leaving it on.Could turning it on and off occasionally ,maybe keep it working real nice? I beleive the computer makes adjustments to the Mag ride continuously, when on. Not just a stiff or no stiff but everything in between as well. \"/

Sorry Harry, but mag ride isn't turned on or off it is just in normal or sport setting, so switching it won't make it work better.

I thought that when it was off, the shock oil acts like a regular oil--one weight/viscosity. When Mag is activated electricity is applied and continuously adjusting ride , providing different weight/viscosity depending on road surface/car attitude. Am I wrong? \"/

Sorry but you are wrong. It works as you describe in both modes ... it is just that one mode is "stiffer" than the other.

Got it . It is always on even wnen the switch is off. Makes sense. A helluva system.
