2010-2011 R8 V10

Jut got off the phone with my Audi dealer and I was told the R8 V10 model can no longer be ordered; only the 2011 (orders begin in April-May). Which makes sense.

Are there major changes for the 2011 year model?

I might just buy a 2010 that's sitting somewhere in the US.

HovyR8 - I'm going to upgrade to a 2011 but haven't seen anything about changes. Dealer doesn't know of anything new and just says that we will spec it out when he gets the new info.

Little OT @toecutter: Great choice with the Q7 TDI

Topic: R8 was introduced late 2006 - therefore 2010 will be the 4th full production year - seems a bit early for an upgrade.

Usually Audi has a 4+3 lifecycle (introduction + facelift)

On the other hand - we never had an Audi Sportscar of R8 magnitude yet.

I agree that we should expect minor changes. Dealer says maybe a couple of new features. Don't know if the intro of the spyder will spur any new styling in the coupe.

Wow, already? I was wondering when the next model year would change. I assumed July/August. I just called my dealer about my pending order and he didn't know, but said BMW is already switching to 2011. Maybe I should try to hold out for the next model year?

Of the people who have placed deposits, I wonder if some of us will get 2011 cars anyway. As I understand from my dealer, they put in a request for a car to Audi, but until Audi "picks up" the order, it doesn't really mean anything. I worry that I'll still be waiting when manufacturers are otherwise making 2011 model year cars.

I have been told that cars delivered this fall will have the option for ceramic brakes. Would also be nice to have the Gallardo power curve, but that is just my own speculation/wishful thinking...

FWIW - Anything after Week 38 is officially the next model year.
