    Video of my R8

    Hey everyone,

Just took a few quick shots of my R8 this afternoon, haven't really edited them too nicely or anything yet but thought you guys might like to see. Some of the later drive-bys have some pretty good sound:

    Yes it is

Though I am very tempted by the stasis in the future... the sound came out rather well on the video, I never really get to hear what it sounds like on the outside, one of the few downsides of ownership

It sounds more 'V8' than I remembered.

I see what you mean about V8ness! With the standard exhaust the difference between the ****pit sound and the external sound is very noticable, sounds much less V8 on the inside. The higher pitched engine whine which you hear inside makes it sound quite different so if you were inside it when you heard it that may have been it

I still haven't seen a V10 on the road (quite strangely) so haven't had a chance to hear the sound difference.

    Thanks VidaMusic!

Inside, the most obvious noise you hear is the dry sump pump and the valve gear noise. Outside, the noise is nicer (V8'ness I like that..) - when my wife or kids drive it I love that deep 'thunder' noise. I saw my car on the road the other day and I'd taken for granted the drama this car evokes...

Hahah I've had a number of people ask me about the dry sump sound especially before start-up. Whenever I see another R8 I'm always thinking "thats what it looks like". I'm always surprised by just how futuristic/wide and purposeful it looks. the size of the rear tyres looks great too

One of my friends and I decided it sounds like a mechanical wolf

Another calls it "Spitfire" because of the 'b-bang' sound it makes when shifting in sport mode at high RPM sounds a bit like a burst of flame

Raptor09 that is one sweet ride....nice clip.....I agree with others it is great to hear it from the outside. I have a similar combo as you, Ice Silver, Carbon Blade and Carbon Mirrors, I think the two tie in together well. Just got a flip video so when the weather cooperates will share one of my car also.
