    Bridgestone tire anyone?

I need to buy a set of new tires for the spring and can get a good deal on Bridgestone RE 050. Has anyone tried them already? Audi manual states that one should consult with audi dealership when buying new tires... even if the size is correct, the tires might not fit properly??

Otherwise I can also get Michelin PS2, for which I already read many positive comments here, but they will set me back for additional 400€.

    Thanks for ur comments.

How much are the Bridgestone set fitted?

On this car I'd probably pay the extra for the Michelins or go for the slightly cheaper Pirellis. The R8 is quite sensitive in its handling to certain tyres so unless you know someone whos already positively tested the Bridges it could be a bad move.

I am at Spring Mountain Track/resort as we chat and many Gt40s were driven to the track on Hoosier race tires. One guy crashed with the R888s, so I will recommend the Hoosiers for your safest tire on an R8. New fresh rubber is the ONLY way to fly. \"/

I was hoping to find someone with them on this forum... where else if not here?

I can get Bridges just under 1k€.

The OEM Pirellis should only be around 1100 to 1200 euros - a few people on here have slated them and gone for the better Michs but Ive found them fine for the European climate and normal road use.

I dont know the Bridgestones at all but guess they dont quite match up to the Pirellis at least on hard stats. If you do go for the P Zeros just make sure they get the right type, theres another thread on here about how Audi recognise that the wrong P Zeros can throw the handling on this car never mind a different brand completely.

    Re: Bridgestone tire anyone?

Rich at OEMplus quoted me a good price on race slicks. A big heavy Ford Gt can get 5000 miles"DAILY DRIVING" including track days. So guess what tire I'll be showing off soon. I am a bit of a show off in the R8 whether I want to be or not. I noticed a set of Hankook Ventus V12 tires ready to be mounted. I have a set of these for spare street tires. 750.00 for the set and I can recommend them highly for grandmas' and grandpas'.They will get you from point A to point B as good as any street tires available. BUT the R8 really requires/SCREAMS for, the stickiest tire possible, for AGRESSIVE driving. Ask anyone who tracks their R8.Obviously the R888s just don't cut it.Ask anyone who tracks their R8. \"/

OK, seems I'll have to pay for the Michelins My experience with Bridgeston was always good but not in this price range yet. That's why I was hoping to find some positive comments here. The 3rd option from my tire provider were Contis but I didn't even ask. Tks.
