    Audi Customer Care

As a few of you forum members are aware, I took ownership of a lightly used 2008 R8. The first 300 miles were great and hands down better than my 997 911.
Took it to the local Audi Dealership (Millennium Audi) to have the inspection done so I could then register at the DMV. Sad news, check engine light came on and looks like an EVAP leak. Thank you EPA for that one! Long story short, it was a sensor and the part is ordered so the car should be back home soon.
For my inconvenience , Audi Corporate has called every day to check on my car as well as to inform me of the completion time. They are sending me the Audi Limited production book (looks nice) and a gift card to use for the Audi Collection catalog.
I don't have my car back yet, but Porsche never treated me like a preferred customer so thank you Millennium Audi and Audi Customer Care.

If you have a Porker, as all the cars are high end, you need to be one of their elite customers to get that sort of treatment there, but dealers do seem to vary greatly in both camps......

That kind of service is so nice to see from any dealer

It is great to see that, but in my experience they don't treat all owners that way. I went to that same dealership, "Millenium" in Houston, about 4 years ago and they treated me very poorly when I was driving an A4. When I called to check on my car, they left me on hold for 10 minutes. They never called back when they said they would. It was so bad that I started getting service at a dealership that was 30 minutes away rather then down the street.

    Re: Audi Customer Care

Cavaret, If I read it right you're in Austin Tx. I too keep a home there and spend about 30% of my time there. My R8 is in London but I have experience with Roger Beasley in Austin (both Porsche and Audi) as I have an RS6 in Austin (and a 911 TT - 996). Roger Beasley are great and I'm sure you'll find that when you do get your R8. My RS6 was chipped (MTM) but they never raised an eyebrow when it was in warranty about service and in fact went out of their way to do accelerated servicing on my car as it was low mileage but the car came with 4 year's service included gratis. That was great going in for a service and getting a "no charge" invoice. Anyway, generally the contrast to servicing in the UK is huge, which I largely put up to American service standards, although Audi here (in UK) has done a pretty good job for me generally as they have a white glove approach to the R8. Way better than BMW here whose service groups seem to have a "we're doing you a favor to service your car" and also a "lets see what we can find wrong to rip you off for". I've stopped using BMW dealers for service in the UK. Anyway, sorry for the long post but I'm sure you will be delighted with Audi in Austin. Let me know when you get your car and lets go for a drive some time when I'm in Austin. One of these days I may get around to swapping the 911 there for my second R8!

    Re: Audi Customer Care

I was at Roger Beasley today and they have been great. They notified me that my car is in production and should be taking a trip across the pond very soon. I will PM you when my car arrives and if you are around we will get together. I am sure dealerships are just like any business some people get customer service and some do not...
