Clarkson, you're having a larf mate.

As posted before, Clarkson's blow hot-blow cold review of the V10 raised a few eyebrows. Not least with me because I believe its the only car he has ever licked!

He ended up doing some posturing about an exclamation mark, the optional extras and the lack of fun factor.

Well, if you're reading this Mr Clarkson, come up to Scotland and I'll have a larf with you. Just been out with newly fitted sports filters and c/f trumpets from Carbonio and, on a 20 mile twisty run into Fort William on a damp surface, the car is not so much a larf as hysterical. Onto the revs too early off a roundabout and you start to smile, hug round the S bends and the smile gets bigger, approach 3 cars back behind a white Turbo S, and wait for the opportunity. He never saw me coming, blinked and never saw me going either. Huge grin.

A couple of miles on, round another roundabout and back to get the newspapers which I may have forgotten on purpose. And, oh by the way, flash and wave at the Porsche going the other way. He waves back as if to say I'm off to Perth Audi on Monday morning.

A stupendous car, handling that keeps you totally interested in the wet, a riotous soundtrack and some eye-popping speed.

Thanks Carbonio, I can tell you that the car is indeed marginally faster, revs better and has left a damp patch on my seat-of-the-pants dyno
