Didn't have a problem with the bolsters but leather on the seat base lifted and had creases and rolls and showed signs of wear.

They fixed it free of charge under warranty.

Do you have a picture ? When I had a problem, they just changed under warranty without a problem. they only thing they won't cover is 'wear and tear' i.e. caused by jean rivets or whatever? What side of the pond are you, you don't have a complete profile so we can help you....

    I am in the uk.

The wear is from getting in and out of the car,but that to my mind is a design and quality fault. It is on the upper part of the side bolster. The only car I have seent his in that I have owned befroe was a bmw but that had 95,000 miles on the clock and was 7 years old.

I will sort my profile out.

If you are talking about the optional buckets, I had those in my RS4, in just seven months they looked so worn, it ruined the interior look.

Audi quoted me that interior trim only had a six months warranty and they refused to replace them, a quick phone call to the dealer CEO reminding him I had bought 3 x S4's 3 x TT's and was looking at an R8 and he picked up the bill.

But I am not sure Audi use seats they design with there material and when it fails, its not covered by warranty???

You will always get some wear on leather when you sit on or against it, it’s a natural material that gives, breathes, but it is easy to have rectified.

You don’t seem to say if this car is new or used, I presume it’s new & from Manchester Audi?

If it’s less than 6 Months old I would tell them to sort it out or give your money back, also, I would take advice if they refuse under the sale of goods act.

Personally, I have not had any probs with Audi, or the leather interiors, I do expect some wear as its unavoidable, will be interesting to see how my seats wear on my Spyder when it comes, they are in Blue & White leather!

Incidentally, the cream leather seats on my wife’s X6 (2 MONTHS OLD) have blue on the bolsters from denim, I took it back, they cleaned and stretched them and they are like new again.

Re: help needed seat wear problem

Well it is partly my fault, the fault developed a while back but I have been so busy with a new business that I did not have time to see to it.They then told me the upholstery is only covered for 6 months undr warranty.
since y car is now 2.5 year old they are playing hardball.
Shame I love the car,but I cannot stomach crap service,if they don't resolve it they will lose me as a customer and I will not buy any audis ever again.I'll go back to porsche if I want to be treated ****.

This is a definite fault,I have seen plenty of posts on here about similar issues,I am hoping with some feedback from here I can go to trading standards with a complaint.

Would still love to see a picture - 2.5 years is DEEP into the wear and tear argument. There are loads of SMART repair firms who can get it back to or near showroom.

Re: help needed seat wear problem

The side bolsters on Audi seats always crease. I have seen this on nearly all R8s. It is the act getting in and out of the car using the bolster to support you that causes this. The way to avoid it is never to put weight on the bolster but rather use the sill to support you as you get in and out.
