    Re: Track Day Insurance

Track insurance is expensive and often makes a one day DE look too expensive. But if you can afford it, its a good thing to have.
WSIB seems to be the best and do pay on valid claims. They also offer on-track racing insurance for certain sanctioned events with specific organizations. On-track wheel to wheel racing insurance is per event; on-track for approved DEs can be bought per # of events per year.

Just as a warning, my internet security software (actually FireFox did it) flagged wsibinsurance and warned me not to go to their site. Below is the results:

    Re: Track Day Insurance

Maybe they someone hacked the site, thinking they were part of the Ontario WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board), similar I believe to OSHA in the US, the government office in charge of workplace safety and the workers comp. Theres always an angry letter in the paper about someone being denied a claim due to X, Y or Z.

    Re: Track Day Insurance

I've seen this before on other sites and it's usually erroneous. Somebody that knows security can chime in here but I know some web applications that install programs on a client PC can be identified as malicious when indeed they are not. I would highly recommend your anti-virus & security programs are up to date before continuing though.

It CAN be in error (sometimes it's a rogue ad that's doing it and not the site itself) but not worth the risk

    Re: Track Day Insurance

    Basic info from WSIB:

    DRIVERS EDUCATION

The Drivers Education Physical Damage policy is designed to provide physical damage coverage for street legal and or track prepared vehicle while “On Track”. The coverage will pick up where your standard auto policy ends, if you are participating in approved Drivers Education, Member Day, Autocross, Open Track and Time Trail event.

The purpose of the program is to provide coverage for damage to a Named Vehicle(s), driven by a Named Driver(s) while participating in a Named Event(s), each of these are to be declared within the application. Additional Vehicles, Drivers, and Events maybe added to the policy, this must submitted and approved prior to the event.

This is first party coverage only and does not extend to damage to the track, bodily injury and or physical damage to another vehicle. If you are interested in coverage that covers damage to the track and or other(s) property please ask about our Drivers Education Liability policy.

Any time the vehicle(s) is “Off Track”, the personal auto policy or an Off Track and Storage policy for the Named Vehicle(s) will provide coverage as it is not on closed course circuit course. Coverage begins and ends while the Named Vehicle(s) enters the track at Named Events only.

There are certain organizations and clubs who are pre-approved for this program. If you don’t see the organization and or club you participate with on our application feel free to submit them to us for approval.

If you are interested in applying for a Drivers Education Physical Damage policy, click on the link to the left to apply.
