    Rear wheel squeaking

At the weekend, entirely at random, a squeak developed in the rear drivers side wheel...started quiet but becoming more and more prominent.

Don't particularly want to take the car to the dealer as I need it tomorrow and for the few days after, but am concerned it could get worse....anyone have any ideas?

squeaks when? Bump, bump only on that corner, always, left turn, right turn, acceleration, on the brakes etc?

The 'wheel' can't squeak, but a bushing, damper mounting, anti-sway bar bush or something like that can develop a squeak.

I get a squeak sometimes when the brakes are hot which I'm sure is a stone but can never find the cause!!!

W T F... it's my version of a smiley _____________________ ... /"\ ... Frown. As I have personalised my rides, I personalised my posts. C-YAAAAAAAAAAAA !!!!!! I thought I heard a squeek out of my L.R.wheel a while back. Turns out it was cracked severely, four of the spokes, mid length. Audi has agreed to pay for 1/2 of cost of new wheel. I had the wheels Smoke Chrome plated and that's why only 1/2 reimb. Happened at track while running brand new Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires. A decent street tire. NOT a great track tire. \"/ I hope LondonSi gets rid of that squeek soon.

I had a squeak/creak from a rear wheel and it turned out to be a problem with a suspension sensor. The following (old) thread has more of an explanation:

    Creaking noise from rear suspension?
