Did you get a jack with your car?

Okay, so I'm digging in the boot of my car to hook up a battery maintainer while the car sits for a month and a half. Take a peek under the access panel for the spare tools, air pump, tire mending system... and oddly enough, there is no jack. There are tools to remove the wheel... but no jack. So tell me then, what's the point of giving a guy a lugnut cover removal tool, tire iron and whatnot, and not supplying a jack. Really now. Any other Canadians out there get a jack in their boot?

My 2009 US R8 does not have a jack, there is clearly a place for it but no jack. The owners manual (page 238) states...."Note: some of the items listed above are provided on certain models only or are optional extras." My guess is that Audi saved some money here thinking that we would utilize the provided road side assistance and/or the tire repair kit, so why they gave us the lug wrench remains a mystery. One benefit, my Valentine One radar detector fits nicely in the empty space when not in use!

It makes me laugh, they trust you with the keys of a car that can do at least 186mph but don't trust Americans with a $10 jack???? Go figure.

I didn't get a jack with mine, talked to the dealership who called Audi Canada while I waited and they stated no jacks for Canadian R8s...

It's true - NA cars do not come with jacks. Audi considers the R8 jack a liability issue as reported in the thread referenced. Your dealer should be able to order one if you want one. It may cost you $ but may not depending upon the stink you make about not having one in the first place.

My new v10 came without the jack, first aid kit and warning triangles. I can sorta understand about the jack given the lack of a spare tire. But the first aid kit and warning triangles....come on. What did that save them $20 on a $170,000 car. Gotta love the accountants.
