    Footwell Lighting

Have done a search and found nothing. Can't find anything in the manual either. Anyway to turn off the footwell lighting?

It is distracting to see that light down below when driving at night.

    Thanks.

The footwell lighting should go out when you start the car. The intensity can be set (on US cars) to a %. See what it's set at, change it and see if it makes any difference. Or take it to the stealer.

Ironic, that this Ambient lighting is an Audi trademark of the quality of the interior - it's meant to be a suprise-and-delight feature...

Thanks for the replies. I'm thinking that the car was not set up properly prior to delivery.

The "car" button is not accessing any menus. My understanding is that this button should allow you to personalize certain settings. Probably also allow me to turn off the footwell lighting.

The car button? On the Nav? All driver configurable options are accessed with the buttons on the right steering column stalk, the ones that also control the 2 trip computers. Refer to the owners guide for all the setup options. There's a good section on all available options.

It would if the R8 had a real MMI, you have to use the DIS to set up most settings.

    Re: Footwell Lighting

I could not get the interior lights to go on when I opened the door. Finally I found a switch near the garage door opener and set it to a "flat" setting, rather than left or right side pushed down. After that my interior lights go on when I open the door and go off after a few minutes or I start driving.

This may not work for you.
