    rough noise while revving?

Guys, just got my V8 R-tronic today and while taking her out for a run-in drive, I notice an excessive noise, sounded like "asthma" or rough air noise that seem to come from the base of the car or near the air vent. Could not quite pinpoint exactly where but does not seem to come from the engine.

This noise comes about while revving or tapping on the gas pedal around the lower end of the gear ratio (just before downshift), especially on 2nd and 3rd gear. It goes away once the rev/acceleration picks up.

Anyone with such unusual noise? Seems abnormal to me. Could it be because it is still running in and the mechanical parts are yet to settle in?

Would you characterize the sound as a "fluttering" or "clacking," similar to a playing card in a bicycle spoke?

Does it appear to come on between 1,800 and 3,500 rpm, dissipating by 4,000 rpm?

Does it respond to throttle imput?

Do you hear it at highway speed with the radio and HVAC turned off?

Is yes to three or more of these, I had this problem checked out last week.

Hi. It's not fluttering noise. Yes, it respond to throttle input at low gear around 1200-1500 rpm. Sounded "sandy", like some sort of frictions somewhere around the air vent/bottom rear area of the car. Goes away after rev meter exceeds 2,000+. It seem to come from mechanical parts of the gear. Dont hear it on idle or cruising speed. Only low rpm rev on 2-4 gear range.

Capture it and put in on youtube as this one 'sounds' intriguing...

It's only "different" if it's used on special occasions. It's used on practically every post you make!!!!!

Maybe the sound comes from a passenger, who is grunting from the G-Forces ? \"/

    Re: rough noise while revving?

It says in the service manual that the engine speed should never drop below 1500 RPM and you should always downshift when the engine starts to feel 'rough' or something to that extent. So if you're cruising with the engine around the 1500 RPM or lower area that could be at fault. May have nothing to do with it though

Also not really on topic but how are the Corsa's Harrison?
