Transmission/Linkage issue on R8...service bulletin????

I am in the process of purchasing a 2009 R8 with 5000 miles. I took it to my local audi dealer for a pre-purchase inspection. All of sudden, during the inspection, the car would not go into reverse, first or second gear. My local dealer said there was a "service bulletin" regarding the issue and they would order a part for the linkage to fix it. The current owner has had no troubles. Anyone heard of this? Would you buy the car knowing this? Thanks in advance for your advice.

There was a service bulletin a while back. It required some inspection and lubrication of the gear linkage ...it was service bulletin 91E3.

The car is under full warranty. You still have 45,000 miles of warranty if you are in the US. Put your location in your profile and we can assist better. I would not be worried about the car even a little bit.
