Audi R8 Web Portal

It looks like Audi has created a really neat R8 exclusive web site/portal called "R8 Pilot." There is a new tab on the Audi.com Driving Experience page (not on the US page yet). You need to create an account and enter your VIN# to register - then you can add your car to enter and maintain specifics and upload pictures. There are several R8 forums available too (although language looks like it might be a problem). It has the potential to be a very nice site & resource with access to the Audi R8 Team's top gurus!

I haven't spent much time on the site but it is appropriately named (a Pilot). There are numerous html errors but I was able to move through most of them. I'm not sure how much data Audi is planning on letting registered users share. Here are a couple screen shots. Note "Audi R8" turns into "Audi R" after drilling into the screen. The Audi Experience Tab has "Audi Driving Experience", "Audi Race Experience", "24 Hours of La Mans" and others..

Errors on registration keeps relocating me to Germany! Maybe its saying something. 4 unsuccessful attempts to register so far.

I sent the Audi R8 Advocate Team a note to see if they can get any information about the site. You'd think they would know something about it?

Looks Audi is planning on re-releasing an enhanced, fully functional AUDI R8 PILOTS web site this summer!

If you would like to provide input on the site as Audi is fixing it up, register, check it out and post your comments/suggestions here. I'll include your comments in my correspondence.

Moreover, I am glad to tell you that we are working on the moment very hard to improve the webportal and will launch a new version of the webportal where Audi R8 pilots could easily interact this summer. Hello,

I am a R8 owner in the US that found the R8 Pilots site while browsing Audi.com. It looks great!

I was able to register, add my car/VIN# and upload a picture but numerous html errors are generated as you move through the site/pages. Some pages will not even display. Has this portal been officially rolled out? Will user data be available to other registered "Pilots"?

I am an Audi Club NA member and am a supporting member of the R8TALK Audi R8 Forum which is currently the premier discussion site for Audi R8 related topics.*I would really like to speak with someone at Audi about developing the R8 Pilot site for the R8 community from the end-user's perspective. Can you please forward this to the appropriate individuals?

Would be best if they separated the forums into different languages.

I also kept getting reassigned to Germany.

Would be nice if they allowed (not sure if they do) us to create our own usernames so that we can match the names we have here on R8Talk.
