    Heffner Performance Twin Turbo R8 Standing Mile Video

    The first run displays my 2009 R8 with a stasis exaust. The second shows Ben's Heffner Twin Turbo R8 running 6 psi on 93 octane. Here are a few other interesting facts: The twin turbo R8 hit 160 mph 10.86 seconds earlier than the naturally aspirated R8! When the Twin Turbo R8 crossed the one mile mark the naturally aspirated R8 was 713 feet behind it! These numbers were obtained from our V Box. Enjoy.

    The twin turbo R8 hit 160 mph 10.86 seconds earlier than the naturally aspirated R8! When the Twin Turbo R8 crossed the one mile mark the naturally aspirated R8 was 713 feet behind it!
    That is what I am talking about! Gotta love the V box...!

    The TT appears to hook up very well in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. And the power also seems to be very linear. Excellent job Jason.

    A deluxe TT system could be detuned by the foot or adjustable boost. Is it possible economy could improve with a light foot and still have 200 extra HP reliably ? I know after market exhausts cause a little extra heat. Miltek ,enough to melt R R inner fender well a tad. Rich at OEMplus showed me the insides of the intake manifold.There are cast velocity stacks in there. Equal length stacks, but a very ROUGH casting. Should this area be addressed ?

    Since the turbos themselves do not require any effort for the engine to spool it is perfectly reasonable to expect stock like fuel economy while not under boost. However, I have yet to encounter anyone with the will power to keep out of the throttle while drving their freshly turbo'd exotic. There are several areas that could be inproved with regard to the factory engine components but compared to the gains that are realized with the turbo system the rewards will be somewhat insignificant.

    Outsider, it is unfortunate that they would not allow us to run side by side but I was told that their insurance policy prohibited such activity.

    Oh great. I'll be picking mine up out in California and driving it back to Ohio with a freshly turbo'd system.

    I am going to have to work extra hard to keep those pretty little attached, keyed bracelets off my wrists...

    I'll make sure I keep a log of the trip - avg speed, fuel economy, time, etc. and share it with everyone. Thus far, my best fuel economy has been 24.52 mpg across Colorado. And get this - I got 19.18 mpg from CO to UT with the cruise set at 100! The car likes higher altitudes.

    177 in a standing mile. YEA BABY!!!
