Engine compartment lighting - retro fit?

Just wondering, does anyone know if its possible to retro fit the engine compartment lighting?

If so, is it a big job/worth it?

The LED engine lighting was standard from 2008+ here in the US. Where are you located? Please add your location to your signature so we know.

I have a 2009 UK spec R8....

Any thoughts on getting this retro fitted....?

I suggest you remove your engine trim and see if the wiring is hidden deep in there. Otherwise you may have to run wiring quite far which could be a real PITA.

You may want to check and make sure it is legal to have the LED lights on when you are driving. In Minnesota it is not legal to have the LED lights on when moving. I do not know about other states. This is a state by state issue in the US.

Forget about driving any distance with the engine bay illuminated. The stock LEDs are way too bright and create dangerous glare. Hmmm... since my car is blue, I may just apply some blue tint right over the stock led's. \"/ I usually apply tint to the headlights for protection at the track. Maybe a blue tint protection next time.

We have the little LED lights here and have looked into the wiring. Not super-complicated, but not a PnP by any means...
