ermmm,it felt identical to the v8,really dissapointed with the perfromance to be frank, compared to my car (miltek and revo remap) it was a bit faster not significantly ,and having driven the gt3 gen 2 and v1 aston vantage recently it definitely feels slower than those despite similar if not better performance figures recorded by magazines. There was no feeling of being pushed back into the seat by the acceleration like i found with the gt3 and v12.
In fairness the car had only 1000 miles on so was not loosened up ,but getting back into mine afterwards was enlightening because mine did not feel slow by comparison.Maybe after 120mph the v10 was noticably stronger ,but for road use that is inconsequntial.
The engine noise and it is is a very personal thing was also dissapointing, the v8 roar is just so much nicer to my ears (mind you having had other v10s none have been aurally inspiring to me).
Don't get me wrong,it is a fantastic car, takes everything good about a standard v8 and adds some extra speed (though you lose out soundwise to my ears). And if buying new bearing in mind the standard spec on the v10 compared to the v8 the 12k price difference would make me buy the v10.
BUt for me to change when my car is worth £55k and the v10s circa £100k makes no sense whatsoever.NOt sure I would change if the difference was only £20k to be honest .
I cannot see myself buying one ,it is just too similar to the v8 .
The really interesting news is the salesman did confirm that audi will be making a 'gt3' type version of the r8 details are coming out shortly ,very limited numbers though.
