Got the R8 bug, thoughts on purchase

Hello, short time lurker, first time poster!

Ive driven a few R8s, including one with the Stasis exhaust today which was particularly awesome. I want a v8 coupe.

Here are my options for purchase:

1) Buy a "new" (75 mile) 2009 $139k sticker for about $125k

2) Order a new 2011 (for late 2010 delivery) and get any config I want for MSRP.

3) Find a used car in the marketplace.


From your collective wisdom my questions are:

1) Is $14k off sticker for a 2009 a good deal?

2) Has anyone been able to order a 2011 for less than sticker?

3) Are there new 2010s out there at less than sticker?

I found a used one that had everything I wanted on it. I'm totally happy I pulled the trigger, plus I saved a fair amount of money. I got the extended warranty and Audi Care so I have no worries.

Do you mind if I ask what year you got and how much you paid? with how much mileage?

There is a blue V10 full carbon on ebay for 152k. Not a bad deal. If you want a V8, it makes no sense to buy new. These engines are durable. I owned an RS4 for two years and put 36k miles on it and never had a problem.

I ordered a 2011 v8 for 3,500 under msrp. One thing to consider is the 2011 (rumor) may get the rs5 version of the v8 upgrade with 450 hp. (30 more).

The new A8 gets the 4.2 with 472 HP!
