iPod Integration thoughts for those curious...

I got my 2010 R8 with the iPod/MMI integration option. While it is technically flawless, it leaves a lot to be desired. I have 300+ artists in my iPod, and using the MMI scroll wheel to rifle through them all, a 7-8 at a time, takes forever. This is especially the case since the list always defaults to the top ("A") and you can't up rotate from A to Z. If someone at Audi is reading this, a software fix would be nice. Till then, I'll be listening to a whole lot of ABBA, while ZZ Top gets zero airtime.

I believe Audi would probably suggest you buy an aftermarket headunit because chances of them updating the existing unit are very low.

I am debating whether to put my Kenwood DNX-8220BT double DIN SATNAV + iPod & bluetooth head unit into my R8 to replace the OEM unit because my vehicle has the CD changer not the iPod integration.

I much prefer the kenwood SATNAV GUI compared to the Audi unit and would be more comfortable using the kenwood during the Alps trip than I will the Audi unit.
I just prefer the OEM aesthetics of the Audi unit and really cba to get the kenwood unit put into the vehicle.

I have the 2010 map discs so at least the route guidance will be as up to date as I can get for the Audi unit.

I am quite happy listening to the exhaust noise and music on SD cards so for me, iPod integration is not currently a huge bug-bear.

Let's dream on. How about an integrated MMI/iPhone interface with voice command?
    "Play songs by..."
    "Play album..."
Ford Sync does this REALLY well. http://www.fordvehicles.com/technology/sync/
