Have done the Audi Driving Program several times at Infineon and after doing all the programs they offered, we naturally asked "what's next?"
So, we did a one-on-one (driver-instructor) for the day. Basically this program gives you your own instructor, and 2 R8's for the entire day. There is really no fixed agenda so you can focus on whatever skills you are interested in improving.
We started our day with some standard lead-follow just to get re-situated with the track and then reversed the situation and the instructor followed while commenting on the radio. We also had a few laps of the instructor in the right seat in the car. Pretty much, whatever you wanted, they would do.
Now I'm sure this wont happen everytime, but we literally were the only people at the track that day. There were no other schools, or other drivers so it was as if we rented the track for just 2 drivers! What an amazing day!!
I even got to try the V10 with all the traction and ESP controls turned off. That car is quite a lot to handle with all the electronics off. I felt best with just the first level of "ASR" turned off so there was still a little computer control if you get too out of sorts.
With this type of program, you get TONS of seat time. I was totally exhausted by the end of the day so really good value for $. Its about $3K for the day so absolutely not cheap, but if you figure what you get, Audi doesnt make money on this.
I know several here have been to Infineon, but for those who have not, I can only highly recommend the program. The admin staff and instructors are fantastic and really try to make sure you have fun, stay safe, and learn something. Each time I go, I am amazed how much I learn and how capable these cars are!
