    Audi R8 GT - road car

    OK. Got totally caught by surprise when I received a photo pack from Audi UK yesterday on the new R8 GT road car, complete with a letter inviting me to register my interest.

    v10 560 bhp, 100 Kg lighter than standard v10.

    Only 333 being built, with 33 coming to UK at £142K (better than EUR 193 for Europe).

    R-Tronic only.

    Deliveries from the spring.

    Anyone else going to look at it ????

    SWEEEET...but what is that on the mirror pods? Those winglets are too easy of an upgrade. I want 'em. No need for a splitter I guess.. And 560 normally aspirated while 220 lbs lighter than the standard V 10 ...sounds "out of controll" !! This monster is 2 wheel drive??

    The new R8 GT is also AWD. All R8 street cars are AWD. Only the full racing model, the LMS R8, is 2 wheel drive. And it is NOT street legal.

    Big congrats to you!! I don't envy you in the waiting, but I'm sure I will HUGELY on its eventual arrival. So which tranny will you get?

    Only comes in R-tronic, but I've heard it's updated to LP560 spec more or less, and I'm guessing improved. I don't imagine they'd put a lesser gearbox in their top of the line hardcore version, so I'm guessing the R-tronic is actually better than manual.

    I honestly would prefer a manual. Not because I'm better with shifting that a computer, but I simply enjoy it. Oh well.
