SBFV10 has asked me to post a thread about this. He is driving his R8 all the way down to Del Mar from Oregon and would like to meet some of the members here. Since I live down this way, I have been in contact with him and tried to help where I can. I know that Desperado has indicated interest and hopefully we can get several other to participate.

I have come up with a fun & scenic drive down here that should be great. It has some curves, scenic areas and general cruising around. My initial proposed route would start by a Starbucks in Solana Beach and end at a California Pizza Kitchen restaurant in the La Jolla Village area. It is about 70 miles. I was thinking a meeting time of 10-10:30am and leave shortly after 10:30. That would allow the people from up north a chance to get up at a reasonable time and make it. It would also allow the drive to end around 12-1pm, which should be a good time for lunch and allow people to get home at a reasonable time. I am open to suggestions and willing to adjust things.

I am so sorry, but I have a conflict and the weekend itself is not available to me. Looks like a very nice route. I drive the first portion of your route (from I-5 out past Lake Hodges) all the time as I have family in the Del Mar and Escondido areas. I am sorry to miss you guys & gals, I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Be sure to post some pics of the event!

Depending on peoples schedules, maybe a weekday gathering? Weekdays should be better for traffic. I am pretty flexible on my schedule and would like to hear suggestions to get as many people together as possible. I know SBFV10 has some plans and is not available on certain days. But if people are interested and have some openings, please post and we can see what works the best...

Looks like it will be mid-week if any others are interested. That way there should be less traffic and a couple of minor stops for photos or seeing things.

More the better, but will be fun even it is just the two of us.
