New R8talk Enhancement - Regional R8 Event Forums

There are a few active posts by members attempting schedule & arrange R8 specific drives. Summer is here and a lot of cars are coming out of hibernation.

I sent the ADMINISTRATOR a message about possibly creating this on 4/20 and received a "We'll look into it."

Am I the only one that thinks establishing new, regional event forums is a good idea? Please voice your support HERE!

Yes Scott, I asked for this as well! I am happy that you may have gotten through to the admins that having a "Regional R8 Event" category (sub-section) is very important to us.

I think it would make sense to have regional sections, but not just limited to events.

maybe it's me, but it does seem that looking at the sub-forums list, the site is skewed more towards "supporting vendors" than to providing useful categories for general member discussion.

can't say I've ever thought the site was slow - if your browser is waiting for the external ads to load before showing the page, that could make it appear slow though.

I agree, Andy. I use Safari, Chrome, Firefox on a Mac & Windows XP. Queries for NEW POSTS and searches do seem to be taking longer.

I have resorted to using Chrome for R8TALK because it is by far the fastest browser (of the ones mentioned) on either platform. It doesn't have a lot of bells and whistles like the rest and the Bookmarks/Favorites is not well sorted yet, but it's stable enough to use.

I really do agree this forum needs an events section, a few clicks of the mouse and Admin can give us what we desire.

Shouldn't be too difficult and will prevent the general section from getting cluttered.

I think regional sub-sections in an Events section for a forum of this size would be over the top but a simple events section which would look something like this will be fine?:
