London Heathrow mini meet with SBFV10 + others!

Hi all,

This is the new thread for discussion of a mini meet for anyone who wants to meet up with SBFV10 (Steve) in the Heathrow / London area on the 18th June (on his way to the Alps trip) for a drink / meal.

Question at the moment is do we meet at Steve's hotel Nr. Heathrow and eat and drink locally or do we go into London proper.

Any one with local knowledge around H'row who could suggest somewhere interesting / cool /fun as I don't really know the area?

If we are going to stay round H'row I'll drive up and stay over at Steve's hotel but if we are going into London then I'll probably train up and stay in town.

I'm booked at the Sheraton Heathrow Airport Hotel. I arrive at about 1pm on the 18th...so after a brief rest and shower, I'll be ready to meet up with the group!

I am hoping that in another month the "volcano" won't be bugging us....otherwise I might have to try to fly into Germany (Frankfurt), or elsewhere. Time will tell how this all plays out.

Unfortunately I'll need to deal with "United Airlines" and get an "awards" ticket change, if it is possible. (Oh well, why worry today! )

Hope everything works out as planned. I couldn't care less if my trip out of London on July 17th is "prolonged" on the way home.....but I don't want no "stinkn' vocano" to screw up my Alps trip!

LL, I've been to the Glasshouse Restaurant a couple of times. Its near Kew Gardens tube, which is probably not a kick in the a*se off Heathrow tube. Its a class act and has great food, and an impeccable sommelier and fromagier, though its a while since I've been there.

If you went there, I might just be a tad jealous

Thanks Mike, that looks good and only about 11 miles from Steve's hotel.
I have been to their sister restaurant La Trompette and that was good.

Any other suggestions gentlemen ?

It sounds great to me.....what about the others? Then we can stagger back to the hotel and continue our "naughty" ways!
