Deposit on an R8 Spyder V8

I'll be changing my PCar next year and have read that there is likely to be a Spyder V8 available around this time next year. My budget doesn't quite stretch to a V10 Spyder with options, so I have put a deposit down already on the V8 in case it happens (if it doesn't materialise I'll get another PCar).

I'm really interested if anyone has heard/knows anymore than I on the V8 Spyder, and what the real likelihood of its appearance is (Audi dealers here in the UK say they know nothing about it).

they let you put a deposit on a car that they haven't even confirm will be makign it to the market? that's interesting....

nothing wrong with putting a refundable "showing interest" deposit down - as long as it's not too large (in case the dealer goes bust).

there were heaps of rumours that audi was going to do a v8 spyder - as a quick search on google shows, but not read anything substantial on it. I can see a lot of commercial sense in them introducing it once the pent up demand for the spyder is satiated by the v10 for those who can afford it.

Congrats - you should be first in line to get one. It will be interesting to see the pricing is but I would guess that it will be the same increase between standard V10 and the V10 spyder model.

Well, it’s a 121,000 Euros in Germany, so you may be right on that assumption, according to this article it works out at circa $147,000

Difficult to say, BUT considering the V8 Coupe is holding up very well vs the V10 and that V8 will sound epic to the driver with no roof I'd say it has a very good chance of holding value.

Of course, I could be totally wrong. Only time will tell
