Production Delay?

My dealer forwarded me the factory tracking sheet on my V10 early this week. It said the car would arrive at the dealer the week of July 19. Then the next day the dealer called me to say Audi just notified him of a delay because of a problem with a batch of front bumpers from the vendor. He had no information about the length of the delay and is going to try to get more detail next week.

Does anyone else have any information regarding this problem?

Not really, but my delivery date has moved from mid June to late July, then back to late June again. My dealer tried contacting Germany through their rep but they were unable to get any information on the temporary delay. My released for production date was in the first week in April, so it was probably more a matter of which ship it would be on.

I think mine is delayed also. The dealer checked the computer and said it was "in production" back in week 19 (third week of May). They said they would keep an eye on it and tell me when the status changed, and they haven't called yet.

My dealer just forwarded an update from Audi. It had my car marked as "KW26/10", which I assume means fiscal week (Kalendar Woche) 26. But I don't know if that's the week it goes into production, comes out of production, goes on the ship . . . ?

I've asked dealer for more clarification. Since I traded my V8 in January against this order, I've got to receive the new car within 9 months or I lose the sales tax credit for the trade-in price.

My dealer told me once a VIN is issued...then you know that the car is ready to ship! Ask them to keep an eye out for that. Then expect it SOONER then they tell you it will arrive. Mine was 2 weeks early!

Got word from our Dealer this week, that our V10 Spyder had been slotted a one week earlier ship date than we were originally told. Said it should be at the Dealership by mid-July.

Got word from my dealer yesterday. I was affected by the front bumper supply problem, so delivery has been delayed. No revised date available yet, and no VIN assignment visible to him in the AIM computer system yet. Ahh the anticipation...

Abso-freekin'-lutely I'm going to track that baby! Can't wait to try it. Should be even more breathtaking than the V8, although that's almost hard to imagine (the V8 is so good). Got an exhaust on order, going to put H&R springs on it, harnesses, camera mount, etc.
