    MPG Survey - please help

I had my V8 R8 uprated with the VF Engineering Supercharger about 3 months ago. I'm delighted with it but want to gauge its economy now vs. stock and vs. the V10's and I can't remember on average what the MPG previously was. So, I'd like to ask all of you out there to help out. From memory the trip computer has two memories, 1 & 2. I think 1 resets every major trip or day while 2 needs resetting manually. I've now put 3,600 miles on my car with the supercharger and this shows on trip computer 2. I'd like to ask all of you to fill in the chart below by cutting and pasting it and sending it back on this thread so the latest entry has all the data - just go read your trip computer No. 2 and fill in below following my example, cut and paste it into a reply on this thread please. Thanks ! (Ps. if in Europe, maybe put litres / 100 km and an "l" next to entry)

User Name V8/V10 Mileage MPG Country
on Trip 2 Trip 2 (ie UK / USA)
    ------------- ------- ----------- ------- ---------------
Maverick V8 SC 3,600 mi 17.9 mpg UK (imperial gallon)

for anyone a bit confused as to how to do this:

right hand stalk, press the reset button (the button at the bottom of the stalk) so that the DIS shows a number 2, then press the up/down rocker button on the end of the stalk to show the total mileage and then again to show the average mpg

and re mpg, UK and USA measure gallons (and hence mpg) differently - from wikipedia:

The U.S. liquid gallon is legally defined as 231 cubic inches,[2] and is equal to exactly 3.785 litres

The imperial (UK) gallon was legally defined as 4.54609 litres.

so a us gallon is 83.2% of a uk gallon which obviously skews mpg - jeff's 15.6mpg is equivalent to 18.75mpg UK and my 16.3mpg UK is only 13.56mpg US.

Given how much time I spend with right foot firmly planted to the floor, I thought that 15.6 mpg sounded pretty good, but I like 18.75 mpg better.

Of course, I don't know anyone with an R8 who really cares what the gas mileage is. And come to think of it, I don't know anyone who cares, regardless of what they drive. You buy the car you like or need and you pay for gas.

the only ball-ache for me is range as a result of the mpg and the size of the tank - but filling up more frequently is a small price to pay for the fun between fill-ups.

My mpg is so low as there aren't really any constant speed roads to get into the higher gears for any length of time - they're all fast, twisty roads with constant speed (and hence gear) changes. fun as hell though.

Re: MPG Survey - please help

I know I am not providing data as you asked, but it really depends on driving styles. My mileage has ranged from mid to high 12s on mostly street driving (that was FUN) to real close to 20 mpg when I was mostly on the freeway and staying at 70-80 mph, on cruise control mostly. I drive for fun and usually see the trip 1 in the mid 14s each fill up, for times when I have done a balanced driving (even street-freeway), but I do accelerate hard usually. I have not reset my trip 2 since I received the car and it is at 13.8 and the car has 10,850 miles with an ave speed of 28 mph.

My window sticker for a 2009 V8 r-tronic for the US was 13 city MPG (expected range 10-16) & 18 highway MPG (expected range 14-22).
