Just sold my V8 waiting for V10 meanwhile...

Yesterday I received a phone call from my dealer saying that someone is offering to buy my R8. I was about to say no when he said the guy is willing to give more than the price I paid when I got the car 1.5 years ago so I said yes.
Now, I ordered a V10 but the dealer said I'll have to wait about 1.5-2 years because of Turkey's V10 quotas and some taxation difficulties. Anyhow, I asked him for another car while I wait for my V10 and he found me an Aston Martin V8 Vantage and a Porsche Panamera 4S.
I like both these cars and don't know which one to buy. My logic says Panamera is a better car but the hot blood in me says I should give Aston a try. So I'm asking my fellow R8'ers which one would you buy given the chance?

not much difference between their prices and the dealer guarantees to buy either one at a good rate (I've known this guy for a long time he doesn't bs)

Love the look of the AM Vantage, but it's likely that you'd see more quality issues with the AM.

Not a big fan of the Panmera's looks, but it would likely be the better of the 2 cars while you wait for the V10.

I'd go w/the Aston. Sleek, elegant lines and look. They have a wonderfully rich subtleness of elegance about them too.

Please realize this is just my opinion, but the Panamera's only beaten out on the ugly scale by the Honda Element and Ridge Runner.

The Panamera hurts just to look at. Why they let that design out of the trash can is a mystery to me.

My vote is Aston. We have a lot of them here, but I do not get tired of seeing them. The Panamera has been around for less than one year, but I hate them already...

I've owned two Vantages and loved them. I am thinking of getting a used one at the end of the year for an everyday driver. The two I had were 6spd's and could get tiresome after a long day of driving, so I will probably opt for the auto next time.
As far as quality I never had any big issues, just a few minor pain on the butt ones. Overall they were great cars.

i assume the replacement car won't devalue more (before you sell it in 1.5 yrs) than the amount you are going to be making on your current R8 by selling it now. i don't know about how things work in turkey but what you are doing seems kind of silly. a car value tanks once you register it. especially so with an aston or panamera.

what you are doing just doesnt make sense. are you really that hard up for money that you can;t just keep your r8 until the other gets in? neither of those two cars will be anywhere near what the r8 is.

As RXBG mentioned, I am not sure if I would agree with switching cars now just to wait for the V10. Are the two cars you looking at new or used? If new, wouldn't either of the replacements probably loose more value than your existing R8 over the next 1.5 years? If you just want a new car then that is one thing, but doing it just to fill a period for an ordered car it seems odd.
