Audi sweeps LMP1 at LeMans

Another fine showing for Audi and the R15, taking the top three spots and securing it's 9th win in 11 years. Good show.

Can someone explain why there were no R8s in th GT classes? I don't really understand the series and all the classes, and thought there were several R8 GT teams in the series.

This was a dominating win and set a new record for laps completed. A podium sweep is pretty amazing in an endurance race like the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Peugeot was certainly going to give Audi a run for the the money again but all three of their cars did not finish due to mechanical problems.

Amazing race! I stayed up all night and watched the entire thing I DVR'd on Speed, took a break this morning to watch the F1 race, thrilled that McLaren took 1-2. Just finished watching the 24 hrs and so happy that Audi has taken the No 1 back to Ingolstadt! My wife wants to go to the garage now and kiss both the cars!

This was indeed a great weekend for motorsports. Both, the F1 at Montreal, and the 24hr at Le Mans, were great races. At Le Mans, Audi planned a well earned, and overwhelming victory taking 1, 2, 3, even though the three Peugeot cars were clearly faster. And at Montreal, McLaren went 1-2 and were able to dethrone Red Bull for awhile. ( After last week I think maybe Red Bull dethroned themselves. Especially after Vettel and Webber qualified P2 and P3 at Montreal on Saturday, but ending up with NO podium at race's end.)

Amazing race, those Peugeot's had them dead to rights on lap times though. Somehow we even got someone at the sports bar to turn one of the TV's to watch the race while we had a few drinks. Nice weekend to watch a few races! Congrats to Audi!
