Is It Possible To Keep The Lights On While Operating The Car?

There have been several threads about this and the general consensus is no. It would also be a safety issue if they were left on (impaired viability). I am sure that if you really wanted them on, it could be done or other lights could be wired, but it is not an option that is available stock.

Try to switch on the overhead light. This might work
Harald
I have an '08 and the only way I can get the LEDs in the engine bay to come on is to push the home coming button (or what ever Audi calls it) down by the lights control switch.
The overhead light button doesn't seem to affect them at all.

Mine is MY 2009 and it works. Maybe it depends on the country for which the car is build
Are you guys talking about turning them on when you park and turn off the ignition? The OP was about keeping them on while driving. I have not see any posts about being able to do that. Several have asked before...
I wonder if this is something that can be controlled with a VAG-com setup? Somewhere there's probably a code that can turn them on/off on their own.

When I switch the over head light on whether I drive the car or not the engine bay light is one. As mentioned above my car is MY'09 and produced for Germany. In a German thread they described it also as a usual method to switch on the bay light while driving the car although it is not allowed to do so.
When I turn either overhead light on my 09 US spec, the engine bay LED is on. Does not matter if car is running or not or key is in the ignition or not.
