The luggage compartment is 15" high, 13" deep and the front is 22" wide, the back (it tapers slightly about 2/3rds the way to the back) is 20".
If your case fits in the carry on check thingy (technical term) that you find at the airport, it should fit in the trunk. I put mine in w/the wheels towards the front - usually the wheels and feet are what make up the "longer" part of the case.
Congrats on going to get your car. I flew down to Houston (from Cincinnati) to get mine and 15 hours later I was back at home. You'll enjoy the drive home how ever long or short it may be.

Thanks,
Going to do the carry on route. Picking up in Littleton, Co tomorrow. Wife says the trunk size is a conspiracy to women. No coins left for shopping anyway.
My former (I'm FREE!!!!) female companion and I could pack 10 days worth of travel in the car. We did it three times and my daughter and I are going to do it in a few weeks.
Enjoy the drive across Colorado - it's beautiful. I'd across Kansas drop south on I-35 through Oklahoma to Dallas, drop over to Houston and hook up w/I-10 to head on over to AL.
I-10 SUCKS. I've driven it from sea to shining sea too many times and that road just plain sucks. BORING and lasts for freaking ever. The only good thing is that it has an 85 mph speed limit across west Tex.
The only road I've found in the US that's worse than I-10 is I-20, but it's only 1/4 the length.

Before the group buy for custom luggage I used a 20" Tumi wheeled bag that just fit. I don't think a 22" Tumi would have made it. My wife has been trained to use care-on for 2 week vacations -- she now knows that good hotels can do laundry.
