Rtronic tranny issue

My 08 has 49,000 trouble free miles since I picked it up new in April 08...but ran into a weird one two days ago. Driving to the office from the house, stop at a light, start up in manual, shift from first to second, as soon as I shift the engine revs, it's in neutral, and won't go into any gear. Coast to the side of the road and try to get into a gear. Start, restart, regular mode, sport, nothing will make it come out of neutral.
Call Audi roadside, they take it to the dealer, take it off the truck, it starts up and drives into the shop. Next morning shop has it out for a test, does the same thing again. No flash, no bang, no warning light, no nothing, just goes into neutral and stays there.
Just talked to the shop, they've got Audi involved, no clue so far. Anyone else ever have this happen?

Fortunately no. I'm also finding that my car's R-tronic seems to occasionally have a mind of its own, but nothing too bizarre like what you've described. Hopefully you'll have your car back in order soon.

Let us know what they find (and what the cure was).

Friday update:
Dealer has experienced the same condition twice, but each time the issue only lasted 5-10 minutes. Still, not ready to drive through LA traffic never knowing if/when it turns into a four wheel glider, so at the shop it sits...... Audi NA in the loop, details to follow.
