My car left Emden Germany aboard the Athens Highway on June 19 and is now off the coast at Davisville RI scheduled to dock on June 29 around 4 pm. Hopefully quick time through customs and safe drive on the transport. If I am lucky I might get the car at the end of July on my birthday. Of course my dealer friend would take credit for that perfect delivery.

I think it is supposed to dock at midnight tonight, but either way, it's close.

Heh, thanks. I seriously considered flying to RI to check out the Davisville port and see if I could get a glimps of the cars coming off. Have you ever been there? Even the sat view of hundreds of cars in their white covers is pretty cool.

Its funny that you mention that; my wife suggested the same thing....God Bless her. Of course she mentioned it yesterday. A little too late to get a plane ticket and scoot out there. I wish I would have known that you had a car on the same boat; and had the desire to fly out there. Could have been a great experience.

Dealer texted me on July 6th stating that my car has cleared customs and was scheduled for delivery on or after July 12th. Excitement ensued. Today he texted me stating that Audi will not release the car for delivery until some unspecified time in August because the car is a 2011 model year and it is not authorized for distribution until that time. Now it sits in Davisville in a puffy white packing cloud. Is this BS or is this normal? SteveR...what is the status of your vehicle since they were on the same boat?
