Ready for an r8! How do i get one fast, connections, referrals, please help!

After looking at several cars, the california, db9, sls, i have decided this should be my first audi. I test drove one at the local dealer but dont' like the colors they have.

I am looking for a white on black, fully loaded for immediately purchase. I have spoken to several dealers and most give me the same story, 6 - 9 months wait for a v10 custom ordered. Anyone know any shortcuts or dealers with availability?

Would really appreciate it, i have found a few with lesser options but i really want to get the cf interior, suede headliner, and extended leather, would hate to settle for anything when paying this much. please help if you can.

Going to be very tough unless you find a dealer who has an allocation and customer cancelled before production. When I wanted one last year I could not wait and found one about 500 miles away pretty close to what I would have ordered. I checked Auto Trader and cars.com and both showed only 10 available R8's, Between V8's and V10's in the whole Country.

Ardy, where are you located? You may want to get your closest R8 dealer to do a national search to see if any that meet your specs are in inventory. I think you'll have a hard time getting one with exactly what you want on the spot (short of offering someone that owns one a bucket of money), very few dealers order them for inventory as folks interested are like you, want the options they want and not whatever happens to be available on the showroom. All told, 6 months isn't too bad for a custom car that needs to be built and delivered from Europe (assuming you are in NA). I had to finalize all my options at the 6 month mark before delivery so I'm thinking that is close to the production cut-off point.

Thanks for the replies guys, I had my assistant call every single dealership in california and she found one that almost meets my specs. Its missing the carbon interior, suede liner, but other than that its white on black.....i figure i'll just buy it and order the carbon trim myself and have it installed.

Does anyone have piano black trim photos?

I'm looking for the EXACT same car but must be a 6-speed manual. Not ready to buy yet but I realize this is going to be a hard car to find.


SonnyD: I almost bought my GT3 from them a few years back but they are a small dealer and don't get many allocations for high end cars so I ended up buyin my GT3 special order from Fremont Porsche and shipping it to Portland. So you are not going to use your spot to order the R8 v10?
