Poor AM radio recepiton

I have a new 2010 R8 and live 30 miles north of New York City and can barely receive the strongest New York AM radio stations which I use for traffic reports and my favorite sports teams. I have two other Audis that get good recepiton of the same New York stations at my other home which is 150 miles away. Audi tells me this is ther best they can do with the antenna in the windshield on the R8 and that they do not have AM in Europe so no one seems to care. Do others have ther same problem with US spec cars? Thanks.

There was a recall on the AM radio antenna in the '09 R8 V8. Have your dealer look up the service bulletin and fix the dam* antenna. I get great AM radio reception! I listen to ESPN in the morning on the way to work without any problems.

We certainly do have AM in Europe / UK, it's just almost no one listens to it nowadays
