    Track day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway

    I had a wonderful time with the Chicagoland Audi Club June 25-27th. They have a great club.

    The video is from Sunday June 27th. It rained in the morning and I had to take my Hoosier R6 tires off and put the OEM tires on.

    There were six run groups. I drove in group 4. I was the fastest car in this run group. At Road America August 9-10th I hope to be in a faster run group. At BHFs I lapped everyone at least once and some three times in the 25 minute run session.

    This was the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

    Nice work..kept it on the black in tricky conditions.

    Shame you couldn't use the Hoisser's

    Brings up a question as well!!

    Does anyone out there know if the OEM rim 5 Spoke can take the extra G load of a slick?

    A number of us are running the R6 on the OEM rims successfully. It is for all intents and purposes a slick - it only has two very small (4/32) grooves to make it DOT legal.

    I can't get rid of the two grooves fast enough.Then they will truly be slick. Or worn out?? One more track day and I'll know for sure if they still perform without the grooves. I cruised over to OEMPLUS today and held the carbon brake kit in my hands. The set belongs to Kfab. My R8 has more ground clearance than Richs' shop dog named "Seth" !! The R6's make a Darn good street tire.

    harry, there are little holes in the tread around the edges of the tire. They are as deep as the soft portion of the tread. When the holes are gone, the tire is done.

To get the most wear out of your R6/A6 competition tires, be sure to rotate front to rear or side to side after an event.

    Thanks Desparado !!! Remember back when I asked if I should rotate? Thankfully I did and I have another track day left...contrary to what Rich at OEMplus told me when I saw him yesterday. Probably wants to sell me my new set of boots asap. (joking) Dang I missed meeting Kfab by "THAT MUCH". I have so many questions for Kfab, it aint funny.
