Delivered

My 2011 Ibis White V10 was delivered last evening and I will be picking it up this afternoon. I will post some pics when the weather is a little more pleasant than it is now. Apologies for the Blackberry video quality, but sometimes you make due with what you have. I couldn't be there for the 'official reveal' so a salesman did the honors.

Man, that unload has to be unnerving. It's a pain in the butt to climb in the window of the car when it's in a regular trailer that you can stand up in, but climbing in while it has 6" of head room has to be an exercise in flexibility!

Drove home last night from the dealer around 7pm; 40-45 min...got home but didn't stop. The next thing I know it's 10pm. Total ear ecstasy. How blessed and lucky we are as owners to have that driving experience.

My 2011 Ibis White V10 was delivered last evening and I will be picking it up this afternoon.

First, KSv10, congratulations on the new car. (I came very close to ordering the Ibis White, as that color is a real stunner on the car.)

Do you happen to know when your car came off the boat?

Mine came off on July 12, and the dealer told me it normally takes about 10 days for the car to show up at his dealership in Chicago. (Since you're in Indianapolis, I thought your shipping time might be a rough proxy for mine.)

It's now the 23rd, and I have a flight booked tomorrow to fly up from Naples to take delivery on Monday, the 26th. I had figured two full weeks should be plenty of time for the car to get from Rhode Island to Illinois.

Today the dealer told me the car did not even get on a truck at port until the 18th, and he has no idea where the car is or when it will arrive. I'm now trying to decide whether to fly up to Chicago and wait for the car, or delay my trip (with all the attendant rebookings of flight, hotel, dinners with friends and family, etc.).

Since I have to be back in Naples by the end of next week, this is becoming a real hassle . . . and getting information from AoA about where else the truck was dropping off and when it might get to Chicago is apparently impossible.
