About LinkBacksI have worked out a deal to trade my 09 6 speed R8 for a 09 R8 V10 R-Tronic. Is there anything (problems) I should look out for? I have read on this forum several bad experiences with the R-Tronic. Is that only with a V8? I'm not sure if the R-Tronic is the same in a V8 as a V10. Help, responses appreciated.

There are no problems with R-Tronic in manual mode. In auto mode it is jerky.

I'm in my second day of driving my '08 with R-Tronic. I must have one of the good setups as I've found that it is very easy to learn to drive it smoothly with some subtle gas pedal modulation during shifting. In fact, I'm literally thrilled with it compared to other similar transmissions I've driven, including Audi's own DSG which I never liked on our A3.
Even the A mode seems to be OK (though not as controllable as manual and it does seem to shift up a bit early). All of this to report, and I don't believe any of the software updates have been done as there are a number of 'campaigns' outstanding on the vehicle from the last 18 months.

Congrats on your car.... I had prior experience with an A3 DSG and when I tried to drive the R-tronic the same, I had bad results, once I treated the R-tronic as a clutch-less manual, then it clicked......
