Did anyone ever installed rear speakers on a non B&O system ? I am not even sure Audi provides rear audio signals from the amplifyer... can anyone advise what to do if this is the case ? Thanks in advance.

You might get away with splicing another speaker or two on to existing speaker wires. Be carefull not to draw too much additional power untill you getanother amplifier added or switched to.This is something not easily done on a "Low Budget". Even the B&O can be improved greatly,(I haven't done it (yet) ). But could get costly do really do it RIGHT.![]()

Harrisson, thanks !
Splicing into the system may very well overload the amplifier's output. Changing the resistance of the system can be bad news, especially if the system's a 4 ohm setup and you end up wiring it to 2 ohms. (wiring in parallel = putting the + wire to the + wire and - to -) If you wire it series (+ to - to + to -) you'll end up with 8 ohms, have less volume available and not overtax the amp. This would be the best way, but that would require running a lot of wire.
The head unit should have output for four speakers. There will be a wire identification chart on top of it, showing which plugs contain what wire.
Figure out which pair is the rear set and then pull the grills and look for correspondingly colored pairs with some sort of connector in the region. There should already be wires, as per general rule, it's easier to make one wire harness with everything possibly needed in it as opposed to two or three specialized harnesses.
The amplifier is under the rear deck - remove just the two funky screws in the middle and the deck pops off easily (outer screws don't hold it down). The amp's behind the driver's seat. There might be a wire ident. chart on it too. If there's no amp, there should be an open space.
The clues are there if you know what to look for.![]()
