How bad is it to use launch control on an Rtronic V10?

Hi.....I just traded my 09 V8 6speed for a 09 V10 R-Tronic, so I'm trying to get an education on the R-Tronic Launch control. I well aware that using the launch control puts a strain on the clutch & awd system, however how much strain? I guess my question is to what point is it considered abuse. If you take the car to the track for some 1/4 mile runs you may have to use it a dozen times in one day.

I have always owned 6 speed manual sports cars and never gave any though to launching them from a dead spot. With my supercharged viper I would practive several time to launch the car with minimal wheel spin and never gave much though to seriously damaging the car. As I've been reading this forum, it seems that using the launch control really damages the car, is this true?

Is it less evasive to punch the car from a dead stop or is using the launch control better?

I have used three times and I have no problem with clutch or transmission

Due to the fact that the car controls the launch, I'd say that the clutch slippage that's designed into the Launch Control probably helps lessen drive train shock loading, unlike just dumping the clutch.

I can't see that Audi would set up a system that would damage the car's drive train. Tax it? Sure a bit, but damage - I doubt it.
