VF Supercharged R8 on Thruxton track, UK

Hi all
I went to Supercar Day at Wilton house for charity last Saturday and the organizers kindly arranged a couple hour's driving on Thruxton Racecourse in the morning for our entertainment. It was drizzly and a little slippery but fun. Only about 1/3rd of the cars drove on track and it seems they mostly had little track experience as no on seemed to be pushing it. As you will see the Supercharged R8 was great on track and I managed to pass most of what was out there by just driving my car closer to its abilities. Most of the cars I passed should have been capable of keeping pace but driver ability and willingness to push were probably the biggest issues. Enjoy.

Thx for the nice comments guys. The exhaust is a Milltek non-resonated. The sound gets kind of crackly as the camera set up is a cheapie, but I guess it adds to the fun factor. As I said in the comments, most of the guys driving were a bit short on 'bottle' and didn't push it too much - probably fearful of the rain too. But with the R8 and AWD and a little experience on track under my belt I felt comfortable giving it a little head. Apparently Thruxton advertises itself as the fastest track in Britain which is understandable with the long right hander into the back straight. In fine weather I think you could just do it flat out in the R8 with a little brake for the last turn before the straight. Will have to try it some day dry.

Great video! At about the 1:20 mark, just before you overtake the Ferrari, I found myself sitting here, watching the video, saying "Get him now, GET HIM NOW!" It was good to see you pull out and pass him.
