Ordering R8 V10 RT. Cant decide on colour. Help!!!

Hi Everyone,

I am upgrading my V8 to a V10 and this time going for a factory order. I cant decide the best colour to go for. I have narrowed it down to the following:

1) Sepang Blue- Looks amazing but seems quite common

2) Suzuka Grey- Looks interesting but have never seen it in the flesh

3) Teak Brown- Saw it on a spyder and looked awesome. Worried about desirability when it comes to selling the car as dont expect to keep it more than two years.

Any advice would be great!!!

Try a color with "DUALITY". Funny I am suggesting a color for you as I don't even know you or your style. BUT...A color that appears BLACK at nite, sounds like a logical choice. Dark blue, deep purple, a dark green, ETC. This way you have two cars in one. The other day someone told me they thought my car was black. They saw it only at night. Maybe this freind is a LITTLE color blind! My car is Jet Blue and closer to silver in my eyes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Personally I think the Phantom Black is weak-sauce compared to a true ,non mettalic, jet black. The most sinister of all the colors.Doesn't your location matter a little bit in selection of wamer verses cooler colors? Inside cabin temps matter a whole bunch to me . I guess I am a real sweater. Don't sweat the small stuff !! But you will get noticed by everyone , really quickly, driving in IBIS white. I just got a severe speeding ticket by air patroll, whilst driving an IBIS white Audi TT 'vert. Turns out the little chick car has a TURBO !! P.S. I'll bet you keep the car longer than two years .

Among the choices you're making, I think you've posted them in the right order. Personally, I'm a fan of the lighter colours - they just stay clean longer :-) All my other cars, including my recently sold 993 are/were white, and I probably would have chosen a white R8.

But, I happened to fall on this Jet Blue model with the grey and black interior and I just love it. It was a bit of a chance since I'd never seen it in person until it arrived on the transport. Most people that comment on the car say that it's the best colour they've ever seen on an R8. I haven't seen another one in this colour in our city which is a bonus. Each to their own though. Well, I am going to have to weigh in with Suzuka Grey, as that is what I chose, it is definitely a tough color to describe and is best appreciated in person, when seen by itself it appears white, next to white it is clear it is more silver-blue, perhaps smoke, I think it looks particularly interesting near dusk... Thanks for the feedback. I live in London so not much of a heat problem over here!!!

I'm swaying towards the suzuka grey with red leather!!! Hopefully will have the order put down tomorrow with delivery in March 2011. Its going to be a long six months!!!

I have Suzuka with Cognac, CF side blades..... A good look, IMHO. Is the red you are considering an Audi Exclusive color?

I was undecided between the mustang brown and red. I saw an ibis white with red which looked really nice. Haven't seen the mustang brown so chickening out!!

The cognac you have looks really nice but I need a darker colour. I will be using it as my everyday car and I play a lot of sports so worried I will ruin light colours.

Any other colours you can recommed??

hi rims, go for brown with red leather - it would certainly be unique!! suspect you may take bit of a haircut with any of your colours TBH.

It seems to be blacks, dark greys and arguably silvers which hold their value. Boring "modern" colours, there is a history of colourful astons having a similar problem come resale.

Brown with Red Leather!!!! Not sure I'm bold enough for that!! My current R8 is black and find it quite boring compared to some of the other R8 colours out there.

But as you said the black and greys are safer when you put them up for sale, especially in the UK.

Can I ask what dealer you bought your R8 from and did you get a discount??
