Time to Mod! Please Help, Need Advice

    Hey Guys

been having a lot of fun with the new r8, its time to start making it a little custom.

    1. I want to install an exhaust system that gives it more of an italian/lambo sound. I want something that is throaty and aggressive but will only act like that when you want it to, i don't want an exhaust that is going to be loud and whiney on the highway at cruising speeds. I like the sound now, just a little more is all im thinking, please let me know your thoughts and what is the best exhaust system to go with. I have seen all the threads and videos but would like your input based on my not wanting it super loud at cruising speeds.

    2. Custom interior, i want to add a white area to the seats and door panels, my m6 was stone/and black plus CF mix which was gorgeous, anyone have any pics of a grey/black/cf interior?

    3. What are some other good starter performance mods to do?

Only a valved exhaust with a remote control will give you full control of the loud/quiet of the sound. The only other way is to have a loud exhaust but keep it at very low RPM's.

I think Capristo and Eisenmann are the only two that make these remote controlled valve exhausts. I do know that Capristo makes a great product. I have no real knowledge on the Eisenmann.

On the Capristo video, they continually turn the valved exhaust from loud to quiet modes. Unfortunately they also kept the normal volume down. The Capristo R8 V8, when fully open, is as loud as I have heard on any R8. Personally, I prefer the StaSIS sound, but it is NOT valve controlled.

PPI also makes a valved exhaust. MotherTucker reports on it somewhere in this forum.

Lots of options and many different opinions

    Search is a good friend.

Ideal exhaust for me would be a valved Stasis which unfortunately is not available.

I love the front splitter and grills set-up. It really flows. Better than Audis' design, for sure. And the sound and look of the exhaust and rear is superb. IMHO.

Re: Time to Mod! Please Help, Need Advice

As mentioned there are valved systems available. I've worked with Capristo for some time now and their product is excellent, plus you have programmable system to work with to your needs. I've also spoken with Tubi in the US and they have some options as well available. STaSIS makes a great non-valved setup as well, there's just a ton of options and best is to try and listen to each system and compare.

Interior parts, if you are looking to go wild I am able to supply complete Quattro GmbH sport seats and interior parts, however they are not for the faint of heart price wise or time wise.

As for mods, sky is the limit essentially. You can go from door handles, door sills, interior trims, engine trims, wheels, brakes, exhaust all the way to supercharger or twin turbo setups. When starting you have to take a look at what you feel is most important, performance, experience, comfort, design, etc. Then prioritize the modifications so you end up with exactly what you feel will increase your enjoyment of the vehicle the most.

If you are interested in Capristo, Tubi or STaSIS exhausts or other modifications don't hesitate to give me a buzz via PM or email to run through options or help guide you to find what modifications might suit you best: contact@europrice.us

    Cheers,

Hey Rich, the StaSIS certainly sounds better in your V10 video, but man, you sure don't provide the same driving excitement as this the Tubi vid! What happened?
