Got my car...finally

After an agonizing year long wait I finally received my V10. Now all I need is a mountain road and some lenient cops.

I'm trying to post photos, but my files which are under the size limit stated by the attachment manager are getting a "too big" file size error. Can I link to an outside URL? I've seen some pretty big photos on the forum, so there must be a way.

Microsoft Image Resizer

I'd suggest images that are 1024 x 768 or smaller (though images up to 1280 pixels wide may be ok). Also, 200-300kb is probably the practical upper limit we'd want to use.

To resize your pictures, Microsoft has a great free tool if you're on Windows XP and 7:

Another good way to to post picts on the forum is to host them somewhere else and just link to them. That way you are not limited to such small file sizes. There are a lot of image hosting sites that are free. You can also send the photos to the gallery section of this site. There are several threads & posts about this on this forum.

To insert a linked picture, just click on the "Insert Image" button and type or paste the links address.

Thanks guys. Sizing images is easy, it's getting them to link or upload which is giving me trouble.

Hmm, trade my new car for secret knowledge of how to embed photos in a forum post. Highly tempting, but I'll pass.

I made a last second switch to the Luxor Beige from black. I've always been a sucker for light, easily stained interior colors.
