New to R9Talk with deposit down on a V10 and questions

Hello all from Tampa,

I was able to snag a new 2011 Audi R8 V10 in my local area for a delivery in October. I guess most of the slots are sold out. Mine is going to be white, CF package and blade, titanium wheels, red interior with the CF package... basically loaded. Looking forward to getting rid of my X5 4.8.

Anyhow, was wondering if anyone had any pictures with that combination, and some pictures of the red interior. I would have preferred black, however I have been told that the red looks fantastic (so was the sales person just trying to sell me a car?).

Also, was wondering how everyone's delivery went, anything I should watch out for? Also, I have heard some rumors about the clutch, has that been resolved?

I got the manual, had to drive all around Florida to test drive one before I put my deposit down. Test drove the Auto, and did not like that. Now to be fair, it was a 2009, so I heard things are better now in terms of the transmission.

Regarding colors, I did not have much of a choice, buyer put money down on it and ordered it, then walked away with 1.5 months to go, so I guess I was in the right time at the right place.

What colors did you get?

Hello AnOutsider... actually it was a R8.5... but I like rounding up

cmxi, well about the transmission. I am not sure if you have had a chance to drive the BMW M5, the transmission is very much like that. However the M5 was really bad, it was like someone sitting in the right seat and you were trying to figure out when they were going to shift. Personally I did not care for the transmission on the R8, it was not the driving part, it was the going from stop to forward motion, there is a delay. Please note that I did not have much time in the car, and that my impressions were only from a 5 minute test drive. I have no doubt that after some time you will get very comfortable with it. Again, my only issue was going from stop to forward motion. Once it was going, I really did not have much problems with it...
