Had to say goodbye to my R8. Here's why.

First of all I have to say that my R8 was the most enjoyable exotic car that I have ever owned. I can't think of a comparable car that is such a pleasure to drive. Last month I was fortunate enough to be able to put about two hundred track miles on the car and another nine hundred miles driving through the mountains of Utah.

When I found this car it was exactly what I wanted. Black with every option, even all of the carbon fiber. The car is absolutely drop dead gorgeous. Still smells new on the inside.

A few days ago I reluctantly watched my gorgeous black R8 drive off into the sunset on it's way to a new home.

At this point you're probably wondering why I would sell a car that I liked so much. Well, while I was out in Utah I saw Mitch Clark's red R8. I immediately got a case of "the grass is greener on the other side" syndrome and knew that I had to have a red R8 for myself. So as much as I hated to see my black car go, my red car will be here sometime next week to make me feel whole again and we have a shiny new Twin Turbo system sitting here waiting to go on it!.

I will post some pictures as soon as it gets here. I will be taking the car to VIR at the end of the month for a few days to get some more track time in. I'll be sure to post pictures and video of that as well.

Congrats on getting what you really want. Will she be loaded with C.F. goodies to offset the RED ?? And...you have owned quite a few exotics ! That is a bold statement ...MOST ENJOYABLE EXOTIC !!

I'm assuming this is another 4.2?

Congratulations. I was looking at a red V10 Spyder this morning at the dealership. It looks stunning.

Yes, the new car also has the full carbon fiber treatment which does contrast the red very nicely. This is another 4.2. I can't get enough of the sound that this engine makes. As excited as I am to get my red car I was still sad to see my black one go. The minute I saw it driving away I had a touch of sellers remorse. Who knows? Maybe I'l end up having a new favorite color a few months from now.

Are there any videos of a TTR8 racing anything from a roll?

Hey Jason: Your black one likes its new home in Coral Gables very much. It is impossible to accurately describe the experience and sound of the turbos spooling, the valves diverting and the drivetrain shaking under full accerlation. Congrats on turning a beautiful and fun car into a hot voracious beast.
