R8 GT order confirmed

Just had the letter ( below ) arrive from the head of the UK R8 team confirming i was succesful in my application for one of the 33 UK GT's

I now face the decision on colour, am i brave enough for Orange? or do i play safe?

We were just at the Neckarsulm factory last week, 2 GT's were on the line both in matte Suzuka, got to see and touch them up close and personal. While Solar Orange is bold and stunning, Suzuka, especially in matte, suits the car perfectly and all the matte carbon and small red accents finish it off. Also, the bit under the rear lights that's painted gloss black on the V10's is matte silver, which finishes off the rear nicely with the tinted tail lights.

Michael- The orange color offered on the gt is called Samoa Orange (a darker metallic), which is quite different from the lighter, non-metallic Solar Orange available from Audi Exclusive for an up-charge on any R8. I agree with you that Suzuka Gray will look great on this gt. Congratulations on your visit to Neckarsulm. Photos? z356

Yes, that is the color. I would go with the Suzuka or another neutral matte colo(u)r on that model, mostly because of the prominent red accents on the exterior (engine and brakes). If you go more aggressive (samoa is awesome), then make sure it will not clash with the "standard" exterior details...
