Question for V8 owners

Can someone check this? At normal operating temp, setting at idle, just barely try to raise and hold the rpms around 1000. Engine will rev but start to fluctuate up and down. Also holding the gas to around 1100-1300 rpms the engine has either a vibration or is missing. I have 4400 miles on mime and have noticed this from day one. Is this just normal 4.2 operation?

Mine's a bit this way in that I have had to become very subtle with the pedal pressure or it acts like a bit of an on-off switch. For me this is an issue trying to find the balance between accel and decel with very light pedal pressure. I'm going to ask about this at my next service.

Thanks for your reply. Never had a manual as touchy via the gas as this one. I have a lot of noise which sounds like what I call clutch chatter when you lug the engine. Only experienced this on cars I drove lots of years ago. Hopefully it's a shield or something vibrating.
